Description
1966 Winchester "'66 Centennial" rifle in .30-30. Built to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Winchester company, this is a gussied-up .30-30 Post-64 Model 1894 with brass receiver and fittings. This particular example is fitted with a saddle ring and high-grade glossy wood. Condition is excellent. Rifle still has factory tie-down and does not appear to have ever been cycled. Blued metal surfaces are as new. Brass receiver is as new. Buttplate shows a little bit of minor discoloration, which may be in the brass or may be in the varnish applied to it. Wood surfaces are excellent except for a white spot on the left toe of the stock - we haven't quite figured out what is is, exactly, and it doesn't appear to be actual damage to the wood. Our best guess is that it is some kind of sticker residue or paint from the box stuck to the wood - it may be removable with a little bit of solvent, but we''ll leave that to the buyer. Original box and paperwork is included; paperwork is excellent, cardboard box is in somewhat rough shape, especially on ends.
