The all new STI Staccato P DPO Threaded Barrel is STI Internationals latest version of their #1 selling STI 2011 9mm Host pistol. This optics ready double stack 2011 pistol is a evolution over Browning’s classic 1911 pistol design. The STI Staccato P DPO incorporates the same technology that is found in their 2011 Race Guns. It has a steel frame with polymer grip module that is designed to absorb and dissipate felt recoil, while reducing the total weight of the firearm. The new STI G2 Grips are installed on this new Staccato P DPO pistol. Just like previous staccato P’s this latest slim profile version incorporates FlaTec™ technology and is built with superior materials, craftsmanship and STI’s 2011 recoil absorbing grip module. A more accurate and controllable pistol is the result.

STI’s Staccato P DPO 9mm pistol is a double stack version of the best selling single stack 2011 Staccato C. Coming with the “DPO” Optic cut and longer more accurate 5.0 inch barrel. Sporting improved serrations and fiber optics sights, this 2011 Professional pistol defiantly puts the p in professional. Also the P is equipped with double stack magazine vs a single stack mag that is found on the Staccato C. Threaded Stainless Steel Barrel.

Great shooter. Runs great suppressed!

Staccato pistols are a no brainer. Runs great, shoots flat. I’ve had it a few weeks and love it. I’d buy it again in a second.

Accurate, tight fitting and great customer service

If you are reading this you are probably looking for validation that this is a great pistol. In the grand scheme of things, it is. Is it a good value for the price? No. Are there other pistols that cost less that perform just as well? Yes. However, this to me pistol in the gunworld is like what the Acura NSX is in the supercar world - highly capible and it can hold its own with the best - especially in capable hands, but the wow factor will only be there for those who are wow'd by pretty much anything $800 and up.

The trigger is good, but that's true of most 1911's, so a Springfield Ronin will have the same performance from a trigger and accuracy standpoint. However, it won't be double stack, and it defintely won't be easy to takedown / reassemble (which is magnificent). It's sights are spot on from the factory, so you'll be chewing up 2 inch or smaller groups at 10 yards if you know how to shoot, even without the aid of a red dot optic. If you do decide to do an optic, it'll cost you $50 to co-witness with a DPP, or $130+ to get a plate for the other supported optics.

The "stainless steel" isn't polished, so expect it to appear more like a satin grey and have some minor scratches on it from the factory test firing.

The slide finish is excellent, and even those flexing their Stacatto's will be showing off their stippled grips, I do find the factory grips to be sufficent - stippling isn't necessary unless you just want to be in with the cool kids.

The controls work well and I had no problems getting the backstrap safety to engage, so it fired 100% of the time when I pulled the trigger.

If your only goal is to have the tightest groups with your buddies, then a Canik SFX Rival or H&K VP9 Match will get the job done. If your goal is to have an awesome 2011, then this is going to be a better investment for your hard earned money than the more expensive models (and more reliable than the competition at this pricepoint). If those guns don't flex enough for you then consider a CZ Tactical Sport Orange or TS2 to get all the benefits of this at a better price.

If your goal is to have the best and most reliable 2011 made, and to have an enjoyable experince shooting tight groups by a company that is going to treat you right for the lifetime of the product (if you are the first owner) then this is the gun for you. It's cool and lives up to all the promises it makes.

One note about the threaded barrel is that it does limit your holster choices, so if that's a concern stay away from the threaded barrel, XL & XC models. If are going to go the custom route, then the threaded barrel gives you the option to put on an awesome Dawson comp in the future for an experience that's near the XC for a fraction of the price.

Lastly, nobody is going to look down on you for having a Stacatto P - it's a serious gun for flexing that is going to get big grins and envy by all who see you flexing it.
