WARNING- Long review. First... Gunprime was awesome! I found the item on a Friday night and ordered it immediately. It showed up at my FFL the following Tuesday! PIcked it up on Wednesday and hit the range on Saturday. That's where the trouble started. CHAPTER ONE. After an initial inspection all seemed fine. The trigger felt different. Strong but solid. Heavy spring on the slide. And the weight makes this a solid monster. But the safety lever felt "soft". No positive lock on or off. Well, the first round out of the pipe was a surprise when the safety levers dislodged from the frame. I ended up with a piece of brass jammed in the ejection port and the safety half out of the frame. Dropped the mag, cleared the port and started benchtop repair which was a failure. Back in the bag and returned to Armscor for repair. They got it back to me quickly (less than two weeks) with the repair summary (replaced plunger spring assembly) and I was excited to hit the range again. CHAPTER TWO. First round out of the pipe and it was "Deja-vu" minus the FTE. I didn't even bother to try to fix it this time. Back in the bag and off to Armscor again. CHAPTER THREE. Armscor got it back to me again fairly quickly. This time there was a condecending remark from the gunsmith about "replacing the Safety assembly as a courtesy to the customer" (REALLY?). CHAPTER FOUR. All the excitement was gone and I was short on time as I setup at the range to try this black beauty one more time. Even though I had only pulled the trigger twice I could tell the safety and the trigger felt different. Put the target out to ten yards. Five rounds - no failure. Six more rounds - still good. I was starting to feel good about this purchase. I wasn't shy about contacting Armscor and they did stand behind their product with no arguing! Now I have to find the time to really get to know the gun. I do like the feel of the extra large grip. And the weight helps with recoil and muzzle lift. I have a 1911 from Armscor in 45 ACP that is my EDC and is one of the best guns I own, so I thought this 10mm from them would be the same. I've seen glowing reviews about the RIA Ultra 10mm and now that (hopefully) the bugs are out this should be another good addition to my collection. I think we will have a great relationship.
