Description

The Tavor 7 is the next evolutionary step in the Tavor bullpup family. Based on requests from military and civilian customers alike, the Tavor 7 is IWI’s introduction into the 7.62×51 bullpup rifle offering. The Tavor carries the usual reliability expected of all IWI products with some increased ergonomic features. This includes the ability to lock the charging handle without the use of the bolt catch. It also maintains the M4 type ambidextrous magazine release system and 45 degree ambidextrous safety. The TAVOR 7 is a fully ambidextrous platform on which the ejection side and the charging handle can be switched quickly and easily from side to side by the user. The ambidextrous features include: safety lever, magazine release, and bolt catch similar to the X95. The IWI Tavor 7 also includes an M-LOK fore-end as well as MIL-STD 1913 Picatinny rails at the 12 and 6 o’clock positions, to allow the use of multiple devices and accessories. The rifle’s body is built from high-strength impact-modified polymer, and has a hammer-forged, chrome-lined barrel for enhanced accuracy and life cycle. Additional features include a short stroke gas piston with a 4-position gas regulator, (including an OFF position – a unique feature designed for special operation needs), a rotating bolt system that ensures maximum safety for the user, and a pistol grip that can be changed or modified. Restricted States: Sales of this rifle may be restricted in certain states and the District of Columbia. Please check with your local authorities regarding your local firearms laws.

IWI Tavor 7 308 / 7.62x51 Black T7B16

I love the ergonomics of the gun. My first .308 and my second bullpup. I have not shot it yet, so I don't know the accuracy. I purchased many firearms from GUNPRIME and it won't be the last. Quick delivery and GREAT PRICE.

Best battle rifle bullpup (with caveats)

If you're looking for a bullpup .308 you can actually trust with your life, this is the only game in town. It's not a tack driver but 1.5-2 MOA stays on a torso out to 500 yards and it's boringly reliable.

The reason you pick this thing to begin with is to hit squishy targets hard with a 130-168 gr projectile pushed to 16" velocity in an SBR size package, not to shoot tiny groups. Bullpup config sucks to shoot from a bipod or bag anyway.

Controls are ideal, it's actually very intuitive to bump the big bolt release tab up after you insert the new mag. 45 degree throw safety (it has a nub on the end of the switch for even easier use) and AR type mag catch are easy to work with. Being able to lock the CH up H&K style is handy because of the stiff recoil spring.

The thing that hurts this the most is that it won't fire steel case/hard primers out of the box. This is because of the very stout firing pin spring. I recommend trimming coils off until it does; don't remove it entirely. Once you do this it eats steel with no fuss.

The other thing I didn't like was the lack of a forward assist. Why use the Off setting on the gas block if you're just gonna rack the bolt and make a ton of noise anyway? To add insult to injury it ejects PERFECTLY even if you ride the bolt all the way back as slowly as possible. If the CH could tap the carrier into place this would be IDEAL for having a quiet brush gun that you can swap to semi auto with a flick of the gas block dial.

Those two things aside, I enjoy it a lot and it's replaced my .308 SBRs. Absolutely recommend if it fits your use case.

Beeaassttt!

This rifle is a beast! It is heavy but the balance is great.

Quality is top notch as of first range trip. Rifle is now outfitted with a Trijicon accupoint 3-9 with an rmr riding it. This helped weight balance even more!

Recoil is very easy and muzzle rise is almost non existent for me. I removed the stock brake and put on an oss flash hider for a supressor so no comment on factory flash hider.

I'm left handed and this gun fit my desires perfectly. So fun to shoot too!

Shipping was immediate and a fair low price. Rifle price was also fair considering market.

I recommend this gun to anyone who desire as such, and I also recommend this distributor.

Fantastic firearm!!!

If you like bullpups - this one is a must have!!! The trigger pull weight is much better then expected (6 lbs) and the gun shoots really well. Depending on ammo - 1 1/2 to 2 moa at 100 yds. You will have to get the buttstock upgrade though. The factory buttstock isn’t padded at all. That’s my only criticism. I have always loved IWI products and this rifle doesn’t disappoint. Sturdy construction and user friendly. It’s all the best features of the Tavor and X95 rolled into 1 !!! Gunprime was great to work with as well. My FFL dealer had my rifle within 48 hours of my order.

About .308 caliber

Below is my correspondence with IWI:
My question to IWI: "Hello,
Tavor 7 Operator Manual: "The TAVOR ® 7 is chambered for 7.62X51mm NATO.Use only NATO specification ammunition". - Is the .308 Win ammunition usable as well?
Thank you,
Sergey."

IWI's answer: "Hi Sergey,
Yes, you can safely fire .308WIN through the T7, though I would avoid steel cased ammunition. Thank you.
Respectfully,
Owen W.
Customer Service."

My first rifle

I've shot many of guns. With that being said, I am very pleased with my Tavor 7 and with it being my first rifle to own. The Tavor 7 has been a hit at the range and one of the range masters seemed to wanted to keep it for himself. Had no issues with it yet. The charging handle seems a little stiff, but no real other problems. I'm 400 rounds in on the .308

This gun is a blast to shoot! While it doesn't have a rubber butt pad it is soft shooting for a .308. Don't let Dewey confuse you. this gun is rated for both .308 and 7.62 NATO. I have shot close to 1k rounds of .308 through this beast. I have also fired +1k rounds of wolf 7.62 NATO. This gun has not had a single malfunction since I picked it up from my FFL. Every round has gone bang. However, I have a few friend who had light primer strikes with Tula... I mean a lot of light primer strikes. That being said, IWI is currently working on this issue and besides, I have never bought Tula ammo and won't likely in the future either.

Ordered this gun and to my displeasure it is not rated for .308 as the title says. The manual specifically says to use 7.62 NATO. I have no idea what IWI was thinking when they built this gun since there is plenty of competition out there that is rated for both. The grip on this gun feels awkward. I know with my Steyr AUG the gun will rest on the web of my hand and its a comfortable feeling that feels natural. That is not the case for this gun. The grip on this gun must be longer because when I was holding it my hand kept sliding up on the grip and I would have to keep adjusting my fingers. But the bottom line is that I would not recommend this rifle because it is not rated for .308 which is just stupid in my opinion.
