Description
The DWM P-08 Luger is a 1906 American Eagle variant, manufactured specifically for commercial sales in the US. It features a 7.65mm Luger chambering and a 4.75-inch barrel with a dorsal fin-shaped front sight and a fixed V-notch rear sight. The pistol has a checkered walnut grip with a slotted left grip for the grip safety, and the magazine has a wood base.
This variant can be distinguished from other Lugers by four features: flat, checkered toggle knobs, a US Eagle inscription above the chamber, a grip safety, and a polished lower position on the thumb safety. The toggle, receiver, and frame are the late, short type, and the thumb safety lever is serrated. The extractor is marked "LOADED" on the left side, and the magazine base is not serialized or proof marked.Approximately 8,000 were made in 7.65mm, and the serial number range is 25500 to 69000.
