SAA REVOLVER. Cal. 45 Colt. S# PE65-E. Bbl. 7 1/2". Left side marked "RUSSELL, MAJORS AND WADDELL / PONY EXPRESS PRESENTATION MODEL". Right side marked "COLT .45 PEACEMAKER". 1,000 Revolvers were authorized by the "1960 National Pony Express Centennial Association". This scarce revolver is fitted w/ three 6 rd. cyls.: 1 is fluted, 1 is rnd. roll engraved w/ portraits of founders Russell, Major & Waddell as well as horse & rider over marking "120 CELEBRATED RIDERS / RODE 650,000 MILES" & the other cyl. is rnd. roll engraved w/ map showing major stops on the trail between St. Joseph, Missouri & Sacramento, California. Full nickel finish. 2 Piece walnut grips w/ silver Rampant Colt medallions. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: glass fronted presentation box w/ red velour fitted interior containing revolver & spare cyls. 2 1/4" Diameter founder's medal w/ horse & rider on one side & portraits of Russell, Majors & Waddell "FOUNDERS, OWNERS, OPERATORS" on the opposite side. CONDITION: 99% nickel finish showing a light cyl. drag line. Left grip panel has sm. chips at butt. Near excellent bore
