Colt Government Model 1911 Series 70 5" Nickel 45 ACP 1979
GOVERNMENT MODEL MKIV SERIES 70 | 1979 |
serial #22867B70, 45 ACP, 5” barrel with an excellent bore. This superb Mk IV Series 70 pistol has bright factory nickel plate and remains in wonderful condition. It is a little cloudy under bright light.. This gun appears to have seen only minimal use since it left Hartford in 1979. The metal surfaces retain about 99% original nickel plate. The factory distressed walnut grips feature silver Rampant Colt medallions and remain in excellent condition. This pistol features a Series 70 collet bushing, nickel plate serrated ramp front sight, nickel plate drift adjustable rear sight, the only blue finished part on the gun is the short trigger, and it appears to function mechanically. This pistol includes a single factory marked seven-round magazine with original satin nickel plate finish. Exquisite examples of the Government Model are always a fine addition to a collection.
