Description
This is an original Colt 1851 Navy percussion revolver chambered in .36 caliber, featuring the classic 7½-inch barrel and manufactured in 1852. The 1851 Navy is one of the most iconic revolvers ever produced, widely carried by soldiers, lawmen, and civilians throughout the mid-19th century and famously associated with figures such as Wild Bill Hickok.
This example retains its steel frame and barrel, brass trigger guard, and walnut grips, with honest wear and patina consistent with age. The overall profile remains crisp, and the revolver presents as an authentic, unaltered Civil War-era sidearm rather than a modern reproduction. Visible markings and serial placement are consistent with original Colt manufacture of the period.
As an antique percussion revolver, this Colt 1851 Navy is not subject to a 4473 transfer under federal law. It is highly desirable as a collector, display, or historical investment piece, representing one of Colt’s most successful and influential designs.
