Description
1895 Chilean Mauser. One of the most expensive ordered patterns of the Mauser rifle family, the 1895 Chilean is both a fantastic example of a pre-war Mauser and possesses great historical importance as one of the most important modern armaments of the Boers during the Second Boer War. This particular rifle is a fantastic example. Early "D" serial block serial number and Ludwig Loewe manufacturer marks show this rifle to be an 1895 production or very early 1896 production gun. Condition is excellent. Bluing is very strong with slight browning on receiver bridge but no rust or pitting. Bright fire bluing on follower and bolt release are vibrant shades of blue with some wear in the middle of the follower. Chilean cartouche on receiver and stock are clear and readable. All serial numbers on receiver, bolt, stock, and other small parts match. Bore is excellent. Stock is very nice with only minimal service dings. A fantastic Mauser.
